What happened on 10th April 2023
On Monday, election race continued. So, we've known more about leader of British opposition and leader of the Labour Party since 2020 Keir Starmer. While his party took under fire Rishi Sunak's wife for using tax loophole in their latest advert
so that, the readers wished "the Labour front bench better hope every single one of their
spouses/partners is squeaky clean because now they've opened this door
it'll be open season. I expect
numerous stories in the media going forward about their families, and
any complaints will be knocked back with 'well you brought Sunak's wife
into it, your family is fair game now';
the Daily Mail correspondent recalled old sins of sir Keir Starmer went to 21 meetings of the Sentencing Council, it decided not all child sex offenders should go to prison. The article concludes that Starmer bears significant responsibility for the fact that, from 2014
until the present day, it has been possible for child sex offenders who
come before the courts in England and Wales to avoid jail.
The edition readers expressed their own opinion that "Starmer is Blair 2.0, no morals, no integrity, just a lust for power at any price."
On other hand, redditors technically accused the DM of anti-Labour rhetoric and a custom character of the article. All in all, everything resulted into a dispute, if Starmet should be held accountable for the Iraq war.
"I guess like Beergate the daily mail will obsess over this and plaster it on front pages for the next coming weeks."
"The Tories really shouldn't be trying this angle, the best response from
them when it comes to people bringing up their abysmal track record is
to ignore it not to try to shift the blame onto political opponents who
have never been in charge of actually running the country. It's clear
from the polls that the public is finally sick and tired of the Tories
blaming all their faults and mistakes on other people. I personally hope
that the next election's messaging is exactly this, Labour pointing out
what a state the Tories have let the country get into and the Tories
trying to shift the blame and coming off as painfully desperate."
"blaming the guy who not responsible for sentencing and who wasn’t even an MP for stuff that happened in 2010"
In addition, voter IDs seemed to be a central part of a great election fraud. Ex-Cabinet minister David Davis said that turnout at next month's local elections risks being reduced by the introduction of mandatory voter ID.
"Johnson saw how it worked for Trump and his
accomplices. Thousands excluded from voting especially in the southern
states. A majority of those dispossessed were ethnic minorities and the
poor. Those who never travel abroad or can't afford to run a car will
be out. Eric Pickles, not exactly a Liberal figure, did an
investigation some years ago. He found three cases in the whole country
and two of those were the same woman registered in two different council
flats in different boroughs. The other was plain error, no
prosecutions. Together with attempts to gerrymander the boundaries is
designed to favour the Tories. They could stop it, simply by emailing
returning officers and telling them not to demand id! A few hours' work."
Others considered that strengthening of Tory dictatorship, "Photo ID to vote what next ....taxed on breathing by tories !!!"
Everyone agreed that is voter fraud. Just some single voices tried to argue that "The UK is the only country in Europe without
the basic check of voter ID. Part of the UK, Northern Ireland has had
voter ID for decades mind."
And once again, small boats kept Britons awake, on Monday. Thus, the Times reported that more than 1,000 migrants cross Channel in seven days.
"Because pretending to try and stop them is a vote winner. You can't
simultaneously pretend to be trying to stop them while bussing them in -
even Daily Mail readers would see through that."
"And this is probably only a small percentage of the number that have
actually crossed. And probably most, or even all of these have come from
France. So obviously the French Government is doing bugger all to stop
it. Just leaving the UK to spend millions to combat their shortcomings."
