On this Monday, junior doctors in England have announced a new 72-hour walkout in June after the latest round of government pay talks broke down. The strike will take place between 07:00 on Wednesday 14 June and 07:00 on Saturday 17 June.  Readers consider the govt offer of a 5% rise non-serious and intended to destroy the NHS. "They offered 5%. Basically the AFC but without the one off bonus payment. They are not serious at all about negotiating with doctors. Expect months of strikes and a new ballot with a similar mandate." "The government is not serious because they want the NHS to fail. They want to bring in a US style healthcare system so the corporate insurance companies can make money. Privatization is the name of the game with conservatives, they just aren’t at the place where they are comfortable saying it aloud. The next election is probably the last chance to save the NHS." At the same time, patients complain of lack of medical treatment: ...

Those were rather harsh weeks. The previous one I suddenly came down with COVID-19 and couldn't write anything. This week was full of whipping up hysteria concerning future local election and King Charles' Coronation. All in all... On Sunday , residents of Scotland and north England witnessed rare Aurora Borealis and all Britons tested new emergency alert system on mobile phones.  On Monday , the Euronews calculated that more than 4000 people have died while homeless in the last four years in the UK, Britain's international development minister stated that the evacuation of British citizens apparently had failed, MPs debated the consequences of Brexit for the first time since Britain left the European Union, and Labour warned that the UK will be hit with the fastest and harshest price rises in the G7. On Tuesday , the Bank England economist told everyone that British households and businesses “need to accept” they are poorer, government strengthened plans to tackle sewag...

On Saturday, Conservative party accused of undermining the BBC by flooding it with cronies after chair’s resignation. Sunak under pressure to stop choosing Tories for BBC jobs after Sharp row . "To a Tory, the idea of being trusted with any kind of power or responsibility and then not abusing it for your own personal gain just doesn't make sense. Whats the point in being able to appoint the chair of the BBC if you can't basically auction the appointment off to the highest bidder?" "No one with any political affiliation should have this job. I accept that is a tall order, but that's sort of meant too be the point of the BBC." "Over 150 years ago, Britain discovered that merit based appointment is superior to cronyism. Incidentally, this was learned from observing the Chinese civil service who had been doing it for centuries. You'd think it'd be the expected norm by now." Yet, we were happy to know that in Sudan NHS doctors wer...

On Monday, the Euronews calculated that more than 4000 people have died while homeless in the last four years in the UK, according to new figures, which means a death every 6.5 hours in 2022 .   Some readers blamed Tory for that. "For the Tories that a homeless death every 6.5 hours isn’t quick enough." "Councils have a duty to house them." Others started calculating, too. "There is something not right with these numbers. According to Shelter, there are 271,000 homeless people in the UK. A death every 6.5 hours is 1349 homeless deaths per year, or 5 out of every thousand homeless people per year. There were 667,479 deaths registered in the UK in 2021 with a population of 67 million. That's ten out of every thousand people in the UK die every year. The homeless have half the death rate of the general population; it's hard to see this as a "crisis". "I'm guessing you'll find that the average life expectancy of homeless peop...

Some lucky guys shared their photos on Twitter. Thanks a lot for that.  And north-east Cornwall Yet, some users wondered if "m ore climate change? Watch out everyone." Also on Sunday, new emergency alert system was tested on mobile phones .  But there were some issues delivering a signal if your phone didn't support 4G/5G.  " Looks like a failure of the system somewhere if some networks didn't get it at all. Probably means we get another test at some point though." Redditors had noted that British media announced that as if it were kind of an event. Meanwhile, many developing countries already have similar system. " It’s hilarious reading about how bothered people are about this. Most developed countries have this warning system. Whenever I come back to this island to visit it’s l...

On Saturday, some guys too much relaxed with help of alcohol. So the police were called in to remove audience members singing loudly during a performance of The Bodyguard which was forced to finish 10 minutes early. Some users wrote that "the police weren't called to eject people singing over the musical. The show was stopped because of the singing, a 'mini-riot' broke out as a consequence and the police were called. I'd say it's normal and proportionate for police to deploy to prevent disorder in a high capacity venue." In fact, those 'mini-riots' turned to be "a split between those who, like me want to be entertained by the show, and those who want to join in. A show at a theatre is not a rock concert, where the audience is actively encouraged to join in."  The Times issued an article on the problem of UK housing crisis: planning targets scrapped in ‘win for nimbys.’ The first comment in Twitter was, " Why didn’t you intervi...

On Friday, a British community was shocked by a great hate attack by Labour vs. Tory policy. Shadow justice secretary Steve Reed claimed the Conservatives ‘have left dangerous criminals free to roam the streets ’.    Even Labour supporters had to admit that was 'way out of line.' "I hope this sick poster buries Labour for Good. I am not an admirer of Richi Sunak, but this is absolutely disgusting."  But others try to justify it. "Initially, I was against this type of attack. I was with John McDonnel in that we shouldn't stoop down to tory level. Now I'm not so sure. It's suddenly dawned on me all the lies and deceit the tories have used against Labour leaders over the years. Certainly since Thatcher. Basically no matter how dirty and nasty this stuff is, no matter how far from reality it stands. It works because it allows a political party to drill a certain narrative into both the conscious and subconscious mind of the target. The electorate...

On Monday, Rishi Sunak told what he promised to tell a day earlier. But Britons weren't convinced, anyway: " You are only doing this to take attention from the fact that you are allowing thousands more illegals into the UK and have done nothing to stop it. This is about distracting people and the upcoming election." They generally answered with this meme: At the very day the Guardian reported w oman, 87, died from hypothermia ‘for fear of high energy bills’, inquest heard. An article told about what redditors defined as a 'social murder.'  It runs about the initiation of the case on the death of an old lady frozen to death in her own house because she refused to put on her heating due to fears over high energy bills. That is a very sad story. It is not only about mental disorders of elderly people: "The article doesn't say she was poor. Some people, especially older people, have a big aversion to spending money, even when they can and need to. I'v...

It is horrendous, but an issue of child abuse have become the main issue on Sunday. While a new police taskforce focused on tackling grooming gangs will focus on protecting young women and girls from sexual abuse , and Rishi Sunak had been preparing his Monday speech that 'p olitical correctness' will not stop crackdown on 'vile' grooming gangs , the Metro reported about two child killers shopping together while listening to music on headphones . Tracey Connelly, right, and Helen Caudwell, left, have become close at the bail hostel in the north (Picture: Mirrorpix/PA) Despite those women served out their time, it looks very wrong, anyway.  Meanwhile, the Prime Minister got rather sarcastic answers to his twit from his followers: " Anyone would think there was elections coming up soon." " - You have a failing Police force; - you have inadequate social services provision; - you have a failing Court service; - you increase offences last week on Anti Social ...

I kept in my mind that today is April Fool's Day, while reading Saturday headlines. So there is a hope that some negative news would be announced pranks tomorrow.   Thus, the Telegraph front page runs that the President of the USA won't be attending the King's Coronation. And still quite a number of Twitter users considered their duty to speak out against Joe Biden. The Mirror offered a collection of the best jokes and pranks as they happen : and replaced Old English Sheepdog with a King Charles Spaniel on the Dulux paint brand   McDonald's has presented Big McNugget Boot which their followers renamed nUGGIES. Ant & Dec duo announced their joining the James Bond franchise All pranks were revealed by Twitter followers. Yet, the McDonald's ones were more concerned of absence of the breakfast wrap and the mini wraps. The Guardian, however, was not in a joking mood when reported that UK firms fear the worst as energy bill support ends . British users also agree that...
