What happened on 1st April 2023

I kept in my mind that today is April Fool's Day, while reading Saturday headlines. So there is a hope that some negative news would be announced pranks tomorrow.

Thus, the Telegraph front page runs that the President of the USA won't be attending the King's Coronation.

And still quite a number of Twitter users considered their duty to speak out against Joe Biden.

The Mirror offered a collection of the best jokes and pranks as they happen:

and replaced Old English Sheepdog with a King Charles Spaniel on the Dulux paint brand

McDonald's has presented Big McNugget Boot which their followers renamed nUGGIES.

Ant & Dec duo announced their joining the James Bond franchise

All pranks were revealed by Twitter followers. Yet, the McDonald's ones were more concerned of absence of the breakfast wrap and the mini wraps.

The Guardian, however, was not in a joking mood when reported that UK firms fear the worst as energy bill support ends. British users also agree that it's no laughing matter:

"As of today my gas and electricity will cost an extra £800.00 a year. That's a bit more than a month's State Pension."

"The US led sanctions on Russia hurt us more than them. Our politicians expect us to be poorer and colder so energy companies can make record beating profits. Why aren't people angry?"

"It is great to be a lackey to the residents of Washington DC. No price is too much to pay for this honour. When will they blow up our wind farms to make more profits."

Meanwhile, some readers are sceptical over the news, "It is great to be a lackey to the residents of Washington DC. No price is too much to pay for this honour. When will they blow up our wind farms to make more profits."
