What happened on 3rd April 2023
On Monday, Rishi Sunak told what he promised to tell a day earlier.
But Britons weren't convinced, anyway:
"You are only doing this to take attention from the fact that you are allowing thousands more illegals into the UK and have done nothing to stop it. This is about distracting people and the upcoming election."
They generally answered with this meme:
At the very day the Guardian reported woman, 87, died from hypothermia ‘for fear of high energy bills’, inquest heard.
An article told about what redditors defined as a 'social murder.' It runs about the initiation of the case on the death of an old lady frozen to death in her own house because she refused to put on her heating due to fears over high energy bills.
That is a very sad story. It is not only about mental disorders of elderly people: "The article doesn't say she was poor. Some people, especially older people, have a big aversion to spending money, even when they can and need to. I've seen people in the frugal subreddit taking things to extremes a few times, and often the people aren't cutting things back out of necessity but more out of compulsion. think it's a form of anxiety." Or greed. It is about how policy of current British Government jeopardizes the most vulnerable people.
And another 'surprise' from the UK officials. Royal Mail apologised for 'nasty' April Fool's Day prank telling striking staff everyone was getting an 11% pay rise.
Many 'clever' readers bothered to mention that they surely understood a prank as soon as they saw it and that "only an idiot would believe a word."
At the same time redditors agree that "This isn’t even funny especially at a time like this. No doubt a ‘joke’ from an over paid moron."
"There is definitely genuine, well-thought-out funny stuff done. The “interview” with Iron Maiden guitarist, Janick Gers, where he admitted that his guitar hasn’t even been plugged in since their original guitarist rejoined the band twenty years ago was done well.
But then you have fuckwits who have no sense of humour and are totally out of touch pulling this kind of shit that justify your argument very nicely."
There are many opinions on what could be considered humour. But in present situation of such a raise of discontent in British society this looks the bullying.
