On Friday, a British community was shocked by a great hate attack by Labour vs. Tory policy. Shadow justice secretary Steve Reed claimed the Conservatives ‘have left dangerous criminals free to roam the streets’.

Even Labour supporters had to admit that was 'way out of line.'

"I hope this sick poster buries Labour for Good. I am not an admirer of Richi Sunak, but this is absolutely disgusting."

But others try to justify it.

"Initially, I was against this type of attack. I was with John McDonnel in that we shouldn't stoop down to tory level. Now I'm not so sure. It's suddenly dawned on me all the lies and deceit the tories have used against Labour leaders over the years. Certainly since Thatcher. Basically no matter how dirty and nasty this stuff is, no matter how far from reality it stands. It works because it allows a political party to drill a certain narrative into both the conscious and subconscious mind of the target. The electorate.

The tories are desperate to win the battle on law and order. So much so, they will say or make anything up to do so. With Starmer, it was Savile for instance. Preposterous that the accusation was, the 'no smoke without fire' mantra held good. People began to question it. Did Starmer let Savile off the hook?

They still crack on about Corbyn being 'a threat to national security'. A commie whos mates with Putin. Of course its garbage. But throw enough mud and it sticks.

At the end of the day the tories do not want to talk about the law and order failures under their watch. They like to harp back to Labour days of old. They do it so well its actually sometimes hard to believe the tories have actually been in power these past thirteen years.

They certainly don't want to talk about tory cock ups. But Starmer is opening the debate - much to their annoyance."

On Friday, as well, the Independent reported that hundreds of thousands of British travellers failed by Passport Office delays

As a result, people were unable to travel for family emergencies and lost money due to ‘frustrating’ situation. Readers at once reminded that "the passport office was failed by the MPs to provide a reasonable pay increase during a cost of living crisis," in its turn.

At the time, it turned out that delays have been applied in case of:

  • First time application

  • Going postal rather than electronic submission

  • Important documents left out

  • Random chance

In the meanwhile, Britons enjoyed long holidays, celebrating Good Friday and reading the Telegraph article about Easter.

Readers were quite happy. "A very well written article. Other faiths celebrate their religious festivities freely and l did notice supermarkets this year marketing products for Ramadan and Eid. So why does the word Easter have to be removed from the chocolate products that are on sale typically at this time? We seem too happy to head towards our own obliteration."

But also expressed their opinion, "The traditions at this time of year where the first full moon after the equinox is the start of the year go back thousands of years. Sure some Christians tagged a different meaning to it but they're in a minority as most people are secular. They enjoy their easter bunnies and eggs and will use the weekend at B&Q and paint the living room. But if most people saw this time as marking a supernatural event then shops would reflect that, but they don't. It's not an attack on Christians it's just that most people aren't any more."

And made their corrections, "Shops used to close at 3pm on Good Friday? When I was a kid in the 1960s, I don't think they opened at all on that day! "
