On Monday, it came to known that Cabinet Office may take legal action to prevent Boris Johnson’s unredacted diaries and WhatsApp messages being handed over to the official Covid inquiry.

Officials are preparing to issue a response to the inquiry chair, Heather Hallett, by 4pm on Tuesday. Sources said they were likely to resist her demand for a cache of documents relating to the former prime minister’s time in No 10.

This info was followed by sarcastic reaction on Reddit.

"Clearly there is absolutely nothing to hide and they are considering legal action to simply save them from wasting their valuable time… quite the altruistic action really…" - "I said the same thing to the police when I was stopped with a boot load of definitely not drugs.Nothing to see in there, so I thought it would be nice to let them get off to have a break before their next call"

"What is it called, the Online Safety Bill or similar? "If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear! Think of the children!!" Government giving information to another government inquiry who have legally requested it: "Noes!!! My precious! Must keeps it safe! My precious..."" - "

Lets not forget that Cameron thought such a claim wasn't right. He instead claimed that we've been a passively tolerant society for too long and that people with nothing to hide should be living in fear."

"Tl;dr - The government-appointed inquiry is requesting full unredacted access to Boris Johnson's diary and whatsapp messages. Government is considering taking legal action to prevent its own inquiry from having access to these materials, an unprecedented action in UK political history.

One would assume if these materials prove Boris' innocence there probably wouldn't be an unprecedented legal effort to hide them... Nonetheless we are yet again asked to suspend our disbelief on the part of someone who partied while our loved ones died."

Also that day the Guardian informed us that, according to poll, nearly two-thirds of millennials think Tories deserve to lose election.

Research from the centre-right thinktank Onward found that millennials – which it defined as those aged 25 to 40 – think the Tories are dishonest, incompetent and out of touch. Yet despite this, it said there was hope younger voters could be attracted back to the party.

The majority of readers just wondered, "that there's still a third who look at the last decade and think 'yeah I'll go for more of the same'.

Also they pointed that "less than half bother voting, for comparison nearly 70% of German millennials do vote. You want change you gotta get off your ass and vote not just bitch about it." - "That's because in Germany your vote counts. In UK it doesn't mean shit if you're in a safe seat due to FPTP."

Meanwhile, few believe in Labour, though: "Labour benefit from FPTP. FPTP ensures that they can actively hurt most of the country and it likely won't affect their seats at all.

Anywhere which is a Tory stronghold, they won't be able to gain a seat. Labour strong hold and they can't loose it. Either way neither party will benefit by doing anything for those regions. That's most of the country."

On Monday either, an angry cyclist told Just Stop Oil eco-activists blocking the roads that he 'hates' them in the latest bust-up between the eco-mob and members of the public over their infuriating tactics.

The self-declared North London liberal - someone who typically supports Leftist causes - scolded the activists and said they were 'hurting the green cause' and 'f**king it all up for all of us', as the group launched another slow march.

The Daily Mail readers were indignant too:

"And the police standing about like their security."

"This just stop oil campaign has to be one of dumbest, most counter productive campaigns ever seen."

"Why are the police always "engaging with protesters "? The only way they should be engaging with them is in the back of a police van. This protest has gone on far too long and will continue until the weather turns cold."

"Once again the police REFUSE to enforce the law. Trouble ahead. We won't stand for this."
